About Bountiful (11-2): The defending state champs are gunning for the school's fifth state championship. Coach Larry Wall is 146-47 in 19 years at Bountiful. Quarterback Chase Christensen's 22 touchdown passes are second only to Fremont's Joel Hancock for the state lead. Kicker Dave Carroll leads the state with 12 field goals. Running back Casey Simmonds leads the team in rushing with 1,206 yards, including 13 touchdowns.

About Logan (8-5): The Grizzlies are trying to become just the second team in state history to win a championship with five loses. Dixie did it in 1998. Logan has won four state championships, with its most recent coming in 2000. Quarterback Ben Macey is third in the state in total offense with 2,834 yards (1,780 passing, 1,054 rushing). Macey has passed for 17 touchdowns and run for 14 more. Coach Mike Favero is 40-20 in his six years at Logan.
