Clear snow, ice for letter carriers
An average of 60 Utah letter carriers are injured every year by slipping on snow and ice while delivering mail. The U.S. Postal Service is urging customers to help keep letter carriers safe by shoveling a path to their mailbox soon as soon as possible after each snowstorm.
"We want our carriers to return home to their families healthy each night," said Ken McArthur, Salt Lake District Postal Manager. "Keeping a path clear to your mailbox will go a long way toward keeping our letter carriers safe and ensuring mail delivery each day."
Each Utah letter carrier makes an average of 600 deliveries each day.
