Lure is sweetened for mystery company
The Board of Business and Economic Development boosted an Industrial Assistance Fund incentive for the company, whose name is being kept confidential by the board.
The company last June was approved for up to $151,800 to hire 69 full-time workers. That award was structured so the manufacturer of building materials would get the full amount if it created the jobs in a rural area, or up to $138,000 if it did so in an urban area.
On Thursday, the board approved increasing the overall amount to up to $249,800 for a total of 134 new jobs in rural Utah. The company would get $2,200 per job paying 125 percent of the county median, if it kept the jobs in Utah at least five years.
