1963: Begins working as an auto parts counter clerk.

1970: Moves to Denver to become a Toyota parts manager. Soon becomes the highest volume Toyota parts manager in North America.

1975: Miller becomes the general manager of Toyota dealership in Denver.

May 1, 1979: Buys Toyota of Murray. In September, he buys Sundance Toyota in Spokane, Wash. He will acquire more dealerships every few months for years.

1985: Buys half of the Utah Jazz. He buys the second half the next year.

1990: Begins building the Delta Center.

1993: Buys KXIV and renames it KJZZ-TV.

1999: Opens Jordan Commons.

2005: Obtains the Salt Lake Stingers baseball team, renames it the Bees.

2006: He owns or is a principal in more than 75 businesses ranging from car dealerships to sports teams.
