TO DO
Find a way to beat archrival and league champion Utah (the Utes swept the Cougars this season).
Play as well in November as September (BYU upset No. 4 Stanford in September but got knocked out of the first round of the MWC tournament in November).
Three-time all-MWC middle blocker Lindsy Hartsock won't be easy to replace.
Four-year starter Kim Wilson Sorensen provided the Cougars with depth and experience.
COMING BACK
Three all-MWC players outside hitters Chelsea Goodman and Erica Lott and middle blocker Rachel Dyer.
Setter Amy Schlauder, who missed much of the year with a broken finger, will look to stay healthy next season.
Outside hitter Bryn Porter and freshmen middle blockers Ashton Hansen and Marisa Vandersteen look to make a bigger impact in 2007.
LOCAL PLAYERS
Jenna Judkins, Salt Lake City (Skyline HS): The 5-10 junior setter started eight matches for the injured Amy Schlauder and led the MWC in assists per game during that stretch.
Erica Lott, Orem (Mountain View HS): The 6-2 junior rightside hitter was an all-MWC and AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention after averaging 3.82 kills, 2.16 digs and 1.10 blocks per game and finishing the year third in the league in points, fourth in kills and ninth in blocks.
Kim Wilson Sorensen, Provo (Provo HS): The 6-0 senior outside hitter posted double-digit kills in 12 matches, including 17 against UC Santa Barbara in the first round of the NCAA tournament to help BYU come back from an 0-2 deficit.
Marisa Vandersteen, Sandy (Brighton HS): The 6-1 redshirt freshman middle blocker averaged 1.32 blocks per game and 1.21 kills per game on .347 hitting.
