Proposed CHIP changes
Raises co-pays from $3 to $5 on inpatient/outpatient hospital services, specialist visits, emergency-room visits, urgent care
Imposes a $5 co-pay for ambulance and durable medical equipment and medical supplies
Keeps maximum out-of-pocket costs capped at 5 percent of family's annual gross income
For families between 151 percent and 200 percent of federal poverty level:
Imposes an annual deductible of $500 per person and $1,500 per family
Increases obligation for inpatient hospital services from 10 percent to 20 percent, after deductible
Raises co-pays from $15 to $25 for specialist visits, physical therapy and urgent care; chiropractic care would no longer be covered
Drops coverage for surgeons and anesthesiologists from 100 percent to 80 percent
Increases co-pays on prescription drugs. Amounts vary based on generic or name-brand medication
