Wednesday
4 to 5:30 p.m.: "Coming Home to Oneself: the Healing Nature of Memory and Listening," featuring Ishmael Beah and Laura Simms, Salt Lake City Library, 210 E. 400 South, fourth floor conference room.
6 p.m.: "A Taste of Sierra Leone," prepared by the Sierra Leone community, Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, 128 W. 300 South
7 to 9 p.m.: Ishmael Beah will read from "A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier," followed by the film "Refugee All Stars," presented by the SLC Film Center. Beah and film director Zach Niles will answer questions. At Rose Wagner.
Thursday
6 p.m., Ishmael Beah reading from his book at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 S. State, hosted by The King's English Bookshop. Tickets $22 (includes book and priority place in signing line), or $5 without book. Books on sale at The King's English, or at Calvary Baptist the night of the event. All proceeds to benefit the Center for Documentary Arts.
