ANS chief balances responsibilities
Grammer-Williams has had to balance home life with responsibilities as president and director of ANS, a full-service agency providing list brokerage, list management and data processing for U.S. and international firms.
Grammer is a lifelong entrepreneur as a girl, she went door-to-door selling bulk-rate products that her importer father brought home who has always been motivated to succeed.
In the early days of ANS, when she was running the company out of an apartment, Grammer-Williams answered the phone in a different voice to give the impression that her firm was larger than it was. Her first hires were family members.
As the company grew, Grammer-Williams kept on top of emerging trends, adding new technologies and enhanced data-processing services.
This self-confessed "numbers geek" also retained her understanding of the challenges working parents face. ANS employees enjoy "summer hours" between Memorial Day and Labor Day, working seven hours per day to help them spend more time with family.
All of this has helped ANS to annual growth rates of 50 percent during the past three years, and this year is shaping up to be even better.
