HOLLADAY — Firefighters said hot ashes from a barbecue's charcoal is believed to have ignited a two alarm fire at a home here.

Unified Fire Authority firefighters said the blaze began about 8:30 a.m. Monday at a home on King's Row Drive.

"There was smoke and flames on the backside of the house," said UFA Capt. Jay Torgerson.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, which caused about $100,000 damage to the home. Investigators said barbecue charcoals were dumped in a garbage can and likely not doused, which caused the ashes to ignite the home.
