Veterans Day events
Today
• Murray: The public is invited to a parade that will begin at 11 a.m. at Murray Park, 5201 S. State.
• Provo: BYU music professor Douglas E. Bush will direct a Veterans Day concert at 7 p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle, 100 S. University Ave. The concert is sponsored by Provo and American Legion Post 13. Col. Jerry Acton, recently returned from Afghanistan, will speak.
• National parks: Admission to all national Park Service sites across the country is free today for veterans, active-duty members of the military and their families. The fee waiver applies only to the cost of entry into the parks.
Monday
• Farr West, Weber County: In a Veterans Day commemoration at 9 a.m., Associated Food Stores will unveil a tribute to current servicemen, servicewomen and veterans at its distribution center, 1825 W. 2550 North. One of the food distributor's new 42-foot semitrailers has been painted as a tribute to America and all veterans. Three employees who served in either Iraq or Afghanistan are pictured. The Brigham City Fire Department and Weber County Fire District will escort the truck and trailer and provide a 21-shell salute.
• Salt Lake City: Soldier Ty Norager and professional photographer Cat Palmer will display their photography and hold a special reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Utah Arts Festival Gallery, 230 S. 500 West. The exhibit features photos Norager took while serving this year in Iraq and pieces shot by Palmer, whose images convey her push for peace in the Middle East.
• Riverton: Riverton city and the Riverton Metropolitan Orchestra will honor those who have served and are serving our country in the military at 7:30 p.m. at the Sandra N. Lloyd Performing Arts Center, 12830 S. 1700 West. Admission is free.
Wednesday
• Draper: The American Preparatory Academy, 12892 S. Pony Express Road, Draper, is inviting veterans to attend its annual celebration at 9 a.m.
