Daniel Council plans annexation hearings
If accepted by a vote of the Town Council, the two annexations could kill a plan by an Arizona developer to create a resort town in the area that would be called Aspen and could include a ski business.
The annexations, if approved, could also affect other incorporation plans in the area.
Residents in the Storm Haven and Little Sweden subdivisions petitioned the 2-year-old town of Daniel for annexation just before Arizona developer Dan Sellers filed incorporation documents for Aspen.
The 6 p.m. meeting at Charleston Town Hall, 3454 W. 3400 South in Charleston, is expected to be well attended and contentious. Law enforcement officers will likely be on hand to keep the peace, Daniel Mayor Michael Duggin told the Deseret Morning News.
