Grizzlies perfect on California trip

FRESNO, Calif. — Grizzlies goalie Mike Mole stopped 35 of 36 Fresno shots as Utah defeated the Falcons 3-1 Friday night at Save Mart Center. Utah is currently 3-0 on their four-game road trip to California.

Ryan Kinasewich started the scoring late in the first period. It stayed 1-0 until 48 seconds of the third period when Burt fed Keith Johnson for his team-leading 20th goal of the year.

Fresno made it 2-1 23 seconds later. Utah went shorthanded three times in the third period, including 1:27 of a five-on-three shorthanded situation but was able to keep Fresno off of the scoreboard.

Olivier Labelle added an empty-net goal. Utah (25-20-0-4) returns to action 8 p.m. Saturday in Bakersfield.
