PROVO — A concert originally planned as a fundraiser for cancer-stricken Brigham Young University student Cameron Williams has become a tribute concert to him.

Williams, who suffered from gastric cancer of the stomach, died on Feb. 16. He was 15.

He was one of the youngest in Utah to have developed this kind of cancer. The average age for victims of gastric cancer is 71.

Medical bills far outstripped family resources and have left a large debt for them to repay.

Tracy Rupp, a friend of Williams, said she feels it's important to do what can be done for the family.

"We have been doing fundraising all along," Rupp said. "I know this won't raise enough to pay everything, but it will help."

Peter Breinholt, Sam Payne and Joshua James have all agreed to perform at the concert, with all proceeds going to the Williams family.

Cameron is my friends brother. He died at 25, not 15.

If I'm adding correctly, he was 25 not 15.
