Trolley-linked gun seller to serve 2 months in jail
A judge on Wednesday ordered a man who admitted to selling a gun used in the Trolley Square massacre to serve two months behind bars for violating his federal probation.
During a hearing Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Dale Kimball found Brenden Taylor Brown had not been following conditions of the 12-month probation he was ordered to serve, including taking drug tests and reporting to a probation officer. The sentence was part of a plea agreement offered by the government.
Brown pleaded guilty in October to selling a firearm to a juvenile. Federal prosecutors claim Brown and Mackenzie Hunter sold Sulejman Talovic a .38 Special revolver for $800. Police say that same gun was used in the Feb. 12, 2007, mall massacre, which left five people dead and four wounded.
Hunter, who also pleaded guilty, was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
