Governor hasn't seen letter
Texas Gov. Rick Perry's office reported late Thursday that it still hasn't received a letter from three FLDS mothers imploring him to tour the shelter facilities and the ranch and judge firsthand which would be the best environment for the more than 400 children currently in state custody.
We wish you would come and have a first-hand look at the conditions the state has put these beautiful children in, Monica S. Jessop, Patricia Keate and Shannon Maria Johynson wrote in a letter mailed last Saturday to Perry.
The women had hoped to set up a meeting with Perry before attending Thursday's court hearing on the children's status.
