BYU's Kehl predicts he'll go in 3rd round
The third round starts Sunday morning at 8 a.m. Today, during the first two rounds, I'm attending a wedding of one of my best friends, someone I've known since the third grade. That will be nice because it will occupy my time. I'll be tied up with that most of the day.
My friend's parents said they would put up some TVs if they can at the reception center. But Sunday morning is when I expect to get drafted.
The standard question everybody asks me is, "Are you getting nervous yet?" My response is no, not at all. I might today or Sunday, but my mindset right now is, I'm going somewhere. It's just a matter of where and when. I'm just anxious to find out.
The next question I get is, "Where do you think you'll go?" I don't have an answer for that. It will be nice when I do. I do care where I end up. My favorite team growing up was the San Francisco 49ers. With Steve Young at quarterback, there was no question there. You weren't a good Utahn/Mormon unless you were a 49ers fan, in my opinion.
That's true. You want to go somewhere you can win. I'd love to go to a winning organization. Icing on the cake would be somewhere close to home and somewhere warm. Those are the things I hope for, but we'll see what happens.
My agent, Michael Hoffman, calls me every couple of days. He's been hearing really good things from different teams. Where the first few linebackers are taken will affect where I'm taken, obviously. If things go well and the first linebackers are off the board early, then it will look good for me. I could go as high as the second round, or as low as the fifth round. I'm hoping for the high end of that. I'm just grateful for the privilege to be drafted.
