STEPHANIE PEARL-McPHEE, nicknamed "The Yarn Harlot" and author of "Things I Learned From Knitting Whether I Wanted to or Not," will deliver a lecture and demonstration, today, 3 p.m., main auditorium, Salt Lake City Main Library, 210 E. 400 South.

MELISSA BOND and SARA CALDIERO-OERTLI, poets; CAT PALMER, photographer; and KINDRA FEHR, artist, will perform "Blood, Fertility and Magic: An Evening of the Sacred, the Primal, the Belly," a reading and gallery exhibit, Friday, 8 p.m., Ken Sanders Rare Books, 268 S. 200 East.

THE ANNUAL IRREANTUM FICTION CONTEST, sponsored by the Association for Mormon Letters, requests entries relating to the Mormon experience. Authors need not be LDS. Fictional forms up to 8,500 words will be considered, including short stories and excerpts from novels. Personal essays must not exceed 5,000 words. Cash prizes will be awarded.
