Campus notes: Utah

TRACK & FIELD: Five Utes earned first-place finishes at the Best Buy Open, hosted by Weber State. The Utah throwers highlighted the meet, with Chasity Toilolo winning the discus and Josefin Berg finishing first in the hammer throw. Toilolo was also second in the shot put. Sarah Grimm placed second in the hammer throw and was third in the discus. Sarah Dowland placed second in the javelin and had a third-place toss in the shot put. Chelsea Digrazia and Janett Ern placed 1-2, respectively in the 800 meters. Laryssa Simpson and Aimee Nay also were 1-2 in the pole vault. Sarah McFee rounded out the winners in the triple jump.

BASEBALL: The University of Utah held on to its 3-0 lead for 5 1/2 innings, only to see TCU rally late in the game to tally the 6-4 league victory Sunday. The Utes are now 16-24 overall and 5-12 in the Mountain West.
