SOFTBALL: Utah State senior Amy Schaible and junior Kayla Dunn were named Tuesday to the Western Athletic Conference's first-team all-conference softball team. Schaible, a 5-foot-5 senior from Red Bluff, Calif. ranks tied for 16th in the WAC with a .349 average and smacked in a team-leading 30 RBIs to ranks 10th on the USU single-season RBI list.
Dunn, a 5-7 junior from Carson City, Nev., received an at-large spot on the first-team and ranks seventh in the WAC, hitting .381 to lead the team in league games only. Dunn is also third in WAC games only in on-base percentage (.469) and tied for fourth in walks (6).
Weber State
TRACK & FIELD: Weber State seniors Seth Pilkington and Sariah Long were honored Tuesday as the Big Sky Conference Athletes of the Week after their performances Sunday at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford. Pilkington broke his own school record in the 10,000 meters Sunday night at the meet in Palo Alto, Calif. He posted a time of 28 minutes, 25.56 seconds in the event, which is an automatic qualifier for the NCAA Championships and also qualifies him for the US Olympic Trials. Also at the Stanford Invitational Long posted a career best time of 9:59.63, finishing seventh overall in the event and was the second collegiate finisher.

SOFTBALL: The 2008 Utah Valley State softball season ended with a 6-1 loss at BYU Tuesday as the Wolverines finish the season with a record of 17-34. Junior Heidi Stocks recorded the only hit for UVSC on the day in her last game in the green and gold, and junior Lauren Augino scored the only run.
