Accused shooter now charged as an adult

A man accused as a juvenile of shooting and killing a man in the Avenues in 2005 now has been charged as an adult.

Moses Unique Ellis, 19, shot Salvador Gomez in the chest with a rifle at Terrace Hills Park, 890 E. 11th Ave., on Nov. 27, 2005, according to charges filed Tuesday in 3rd District Court.

Ellis has been held in a juvenile detention center since turning himself in to police in 2006.

He faces one count of first-degree felony murder, one count of second-degree felony attempted homicide and 10 counts of discharging a firearm, a third-degree felony.
