Sandy pharmacy robbed again of Oxycontin
About 10:30 a.m. two men entered Southwood Pharmacy, 880 E. 9400 South, pointed guns at the clerk and demanded Oxycontin, said Sandy Police Sgt. Victor Quezada.
The men were given an undisclosed amount of the powerful painkiller and left. They were last seen driving a light tan SUV. The men, both white males between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, were last seen wearing knit beanie caps, Quezada said. One man was wearing a black shirt with an orange stripe and the other an orange shirt, he said.
The robbers in Saturday's incident were different from the man arrested in January, whom police say attempted to rob the store twice, but was chased away each time by the same clerk wielding a different piece of sporting equipment. In January, the pharmacist chased the man off with a golf club. In December, the same pharmacist chased the same robber off with a baseball bat.
That pharmacist was not working Saturday, Quezada said.
There was really no rhyme or reason why this particular pharmacy was robbed so much, he said.
