GOP candidates broke rules

GOP delegates from every district "booed" Chris Cannon and David Leavitt because both camps broke convention rules prohibiting campaign literature (signs are literature, too) to be passed out on the floor. They used their teen volunteers, wearing Leavitt T-shirts and carrying Cannon signs, to parade onto the floor, signaling Leavitt delegates to cast their votes for Cannon in the final round.

It's not about who the delegates supported. It's about character, often defined by how a person reacts in "crisis." Both the Leavitt and Cannon camps showed a lack of character in this campaign crisis.

Ronald Reagan once said, "It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first." It was troubling to watch these politicians use innocent young people to do their dirty work. What kind of example is that?
