Convention story incomplete
It was disappointing to read the Deseret News article covering the 3rd District congressional race at the Utah State Republican Convention (May 11). Bob Bernick and Leigh Dethman failed to mention David Leavitt's decision to dispatch his volunteers to the convention floor carrying Cannon signs — a violation of the rules. This would help explain why some delegates voiced their displeasure when Cannon and Leavitt walked the convention floor before the third ballot was cast. Rep. Cannon indicated that he "was surprised by the ferocity" of the Jason Chaffetz supporters. For those who were present, the reaction was not surprising.
This omission makes me question your objectivity.
