Convention inspiring
I had the fortunate opportunity to participate in the Democratic State Convention for the first time this past weekend. I walked away with appreciation for each candidate who is willingly putting his or her professional life on hold to stand up and work to elevate our life here in Utah. I did not agree with each position, but I was impressed with each candidate. This is even more impressive considering the unfortunate mean-spirited turn our politics has taken in recent years.
I came away inspired to be more actively involved in state and local politics. Each person who gets involved makes a difference. Whether they win or lose in November, by offering different solutions, ideas and opinions, our society is strengthened.
