12 Getting Ahead grads honored Wednesday
PROVO Community Action Services and Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity of Utah County will honor the 12 graduates of Utah County's new Getting Ahead in a Just-Getting-By World program at a reception Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Scenicview Center, 5485 N. River Run Drive.
The Getting Ahead program is a step-by-step life planning program that includes facilitated education, group support and hands-on experiences. Participants attend weekly group sessions for 10-12 weeks.
The overall goal of the program is to help area families work together to break the poverty cycle, find solutions to community issues and build bridges to a more stable and productive life.
