Imagenetix drops $2.75B lawuit against MonaVie Inc.
On May 5, San Diego-based Imagenetix Inc. sued South Jordan-based MonaVie Inc., its executives, top distributors and up to 10,000 unidentified persons associated with MonaVie for trademark infringement, false advertising and unfair competition. MonaVie and its distributors were falsely claiming the juice contained an Imagenetix-manufactured joint inflammatory therapy, according to the lawsuit.
MonaVie president Dallin Larsen said in a statement Friday that under the terms of the settlement with Imagenetix, the therapy, called Celadrin, will be in MonaVie Active.
Imagenetix secretary-treasurer Debra Spencer said Friday afternoon that Imagenetix attorneys intended to ask a federal judge in California to dismiss the suit. She was not sure if the court documents had been filed by Friday afternoon. =
