Supreme Court rules against nude dance club
The strip club will be forced to leave its building in Murray, near 5200 S. State. The dilapidated structure will be demolished.
Southern Exposure has been a tenant of Intermountain since the mid-1990s when the corporation purchased land to build a state-of-the-art hospital.
Many other tenants that had been using the land but left years ago, leaving the gaudy neon strip club alone in blocking views of the hospital. The gleaming five-tower medical center was completed in October of 2007.
The Utah Supreme Court ruled that Intermountain did not waive its right to terminate the lease contract with the strip club even though it accepted late rent payments in 1998. However, the court denied the corporation legal fees, which would have totalled about $300,000.
