President George Bush nominated Michael O'Neill, a Brigham Young University alumnus, to fill a vacancy on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia Thursday.

O'Neill formerly served as Senate Judiciary Committee Chief Counsel, Staff Director and aide to U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) and Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. O'Neill served on the Committee for nearly two years, between 2005 and 2007.
