No adult zebra mussels have been found at Lake Powell, but to help keep them out of the popular recreation destination and water supply source, an extra $100,000 is being spent on prevention efforts, the National Park Service recently announced.

The money will be used to hire more staff to keep watch at launch ramps, provide educational materials to boaters and to help inspect and decontaminate boats after hours.
