PROVO — The Provo Rotary Club recently announced that it has installed well-known business leader John Petersen as president of the club for the upcoming year.

Petersen has been an active member of Rotary Club for 13 years.

"Rotary's agenda is service and that is something that brings great meaning to me personally," Petersen said in a release sent out by the Rotary Club. "The club is growing in membership and is active in many local initiatives as well as international projects. This is an exciting time to be part of the Rotary movement."

Petersen, a former chairman of the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce and president of the Utah Valley Public Relations Society, moved to Provo in 1991 to take a position in the public relations department of Nu Skin Enterprises after retiring from the U.S. Navy. Petersen then worked for the Provo School District Foundation and currently works for Pilmer Public Relations.

Petersen and his wife Christine reside in Springville and are the parents of four children.
