A West Valley man has been charged with firing a gun at a Salt Lake County home and breaking a front window with a beer bottle.

On June 15, the 20-year-old fired five shots at a home near 5500 West and Westslope (4970 South) while a woman was inside the home, according to charges filed Thursday in 3rd District Court.

Police found bullet holes in the front door and a slug in the entry way, according to the charges. The shooting caused about $500 in damages, police said.

The man has been charged with multiple felony counts, including discharging a firearm from a vehicle, aggravated assault and criminal mischief.
