KAYSVILLE — Should the annual Kaysville Fourth of July Parade be wet or dry? The decision is still up in the air, as the Kaysville-Fruit Heights Civic Committee is seeking more community input on the issue.

"We agreed to wait," Pauline Richardson, parade co-chairperson, said. The committee wants more feedback from the public.

Two 10-year-old boys were injured in separate incidents involving vehicles during this year's Fourth of July parade. Both are expected to fully recover.

The water portion at the end of the parade started eight years ago. Those in the parade have a water fight with any spectators along the street who stay around for it.

Apart from the safety issues of the parade, Richardson said the event's popularity has soared, with estimates of 35,000 to as many as 40,000 attending this year.

Anyone with input or suggestions on the Kaysville parade can e-mail Mayor Neka Roundy at mayor.roundy@kaysvillecity.com. Or, they can contact Richardson at 444-3910.
