Hiker lost in King's Peak area
The 61-year-old man was last seen on the trail at 1 p.m. Friday in the King's Peak area, said Josh Wall, a detective at the Summit County Sheriff's Office.
The man had been hiking with about five people, and fell behind. The group waited for a bit, and eventually turned back hoping to find him on the trail.
Police were called at about 9:15 that night.
Wall said the man was carrying a day pack, but no overnight gear. He is "pretty physically fit" and "into summiting," Wall said.
Search teams combed the mountain all day Friday, while a helicopter patrolled from above. Wall said Sunday's search will consist of a helicopter, rescue dogs and searchers on the ground.
