David Archuleta returns home for 'American Idol' concert
After attempting to report the weather, Archuleta and his father, Jeff, answered questions about the young singer's new-found fame and work on his upcoming album.
When asked how many songs he's recorded for his new album, David said he wasn't sure.
"You can record like a hundred songs and use a certain amount," he said, adding that he's also trying to do some songwriting as well.
In an interview with the Deseret News Sunday, Jeff Archuleta said rumors about a CD release date are premature at best.
After the conclusion of the "American Idol" season, David Archuleta said he was able to spend a little bit of time at his Murray home.
"I haven't really changed much," Archuleta said, adding that after his friends realized fame hadn't changed him "it was pretty laid back. It was fun."
Jeff Archuleta said the family might go on the road a lot, but they will not move from their Murray home.
On tour, Archuleta said fans have been pretty good, although, the young star said he had to dodge autographing someone's stomach.
"I just kept moving," Archuleta said.
Archuleta and the other top nine finalists including "Idol" winner David Cook are in Salt Lake City for the American Idols Live concert tonight and Tuesday at the E Center. David said he and the other Idols travel in a "a guys' bus and a girls' bus," and they all get along well.
"We're like a big happy family," Archuleta said.
Archuleta then sang a couple songs, including "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley, a song he wanted to sing on "American Idol." It was instead sung by Jason Castro.
