A federal grand jury has indicted a South Jordan credit union teller on armed robbery for his role in a July 3 holdup.

Jeffery Lyle Nay pleaded not guilty in U.S. District Court Thursday. Federal charges filed against a co-defendant, Curtis Brad Cordery, said Nay was a friend who worked at the Goldenwest Credit Union at 3664 W. 10400 S.

Cordery is accused of committing the actual robbery.

Nay denied involvement in the robbery, but criminal charges said he received a phone call from Cordery on July 8, who said "I know that they know it is me. I am not coming back."

Cordery remains at large.
