A man has pleaded guilty to two separate fatal shootings that occurred in June 2007 during what police described as a crime spree conducted by a "totally out of control" young man.

Samuel Paul Krokaugger, 19, has pleaded guilty to first-degree felony murder in connection with the shooting death of Aaron Wheelwright, who was killed on June 29, 2007. Wheelwright was trying to stop Krokaugger from robbing a drug dealer outside a South Salt Lake apartment complex, according to court documents.

Krokaugger also has entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of second-degree felony manslaughter after admitting as part of a plea bargain that he handed a gun to a friend, Mohamed Daffalla Kabor, 19, who allegedly fired it at a car on June 24, 2007. The shots killed Luis Trujillo, 17.

Kabor faces a first-degree felony murder charge in that case. A jury trial is scheduled for Nov. 18-20.

In addition, Krokaugger has pleaded guilty to an amended charge of second-degree felony aggravated assault for shooting a woman who was throwing water balloons from a car on June 23, 2007. The woman was shot in the head but survived.

Other charges against Krokaugger were dismissed as part of a complex plea bargain. Sentencing is Oct. 17.
