Man arrested with pills in lap and inside him
The man, 20, was arrested early Friday morning for investigation of burglary of a residence, theft, possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone, possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone, DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a 4th District Court affidavit of probable cause.
Late Thursday, Orem officers were dispatched to a home on Main Street to investigate a report of a residential burglary. A woman at the home reported a small black safe containing several prescription medications was missing. The owner of the medications told police she knew who had taken them, according to the affidavit.
The man allegedly climbed into the woman's house through a broken window. Blood on the outside of the window indicated the man cut himself while leaving the home with the medications. Police contacted the girlfriend of the suspected burglar, who told police she found blood in the couple's apartment, according to the affidavit.
Later on, police discovered the man passed out in a car in a parking lot. The man had several pills in his lap and a cut on his arm, according to the affidavit. Police said the pills in the man's lap were stolen from the woman and that the man was impaired.
