CENTERVILLE — Police said they have several "persons of interest" in a "string cheese bomb threat" at a grocery store here.

On Saturday, someone made a call from inside the Dick's Market at 350 E. Pages Lane, alerting law enforcement of a bomb inside the store. As people were being evacuated, Centerville Police Lt. Paul Child said, an employee told officers they spotted a cylinder device wrapped in duct tape next to the dry ice cooler.

"The item reported by the employee was determined to be a stick string cheese that had been wrapped in duct tape and fashioned to appear like an incendiary device," Child said.

Surveillance tapes from the grocery store indicated someone was seen planting the fake device near the ice box. Others are still being questioned.

A lame joke. But still better than if it wasn't a joke.
