A pair of Utah-based building-products companies are combining operations.

Sunroc Corp., based in St. George and a subsidiary of Clyde Cos., said Tuesday that it has acquired Standard Builders Supply, based in Salt Lake City. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Sunroc, a provider of building products, said Standard Builders' employees and operations will become part of Sunroc's new Salt Lake City facility at 2355 W. 1500 South. Sunroc has taken over the customer commitments of Standard Builders, a building-components and lumber company. Sunroc said Standard Builders' owners, Mike Hansen and Jim Ridd, are retiring and will pursue other interests.

"We are excited about our purchase of Standard Builders Supply," Rhys Weaver, Sunroc's president, said in a prepared statement. "This acquisition will position Sunroc for future growth as the leader in the Utah market."

Sunroc has 24 locations from Salt Lake to Las Vegas. Standard Builders was founded in Salt Lake in 1948. Clyde Cos. has more than 2,500 employees.
