MormonTimes.com: Gratitude leads to effective communication

Communication is all about reflecting the gratitude we feel in our lives, S. Dee Barrett told a Brigham Young University Campus Education Week session Friday.

Barrett, an author and instructor at the Logan Utah Institute of Religion, said 60 to 65 percent of all human communication is nonverbal — and that kind of communication comes from the heart. "What we fill our hearts with is what we'll radiate."

That's where gratitude comes in. He referred to President James E. Faust's feelings that gratitude is a saving principle. And "if you're in the attitude of gratitude," Barrett said, "what does that do for our relationships?"
