Election complaint filed against Mascaro
Mascaro's Democratic challenger, Jennifer Burley Wolfe, says she has filed a complaint with the State Elections Office over the mailer. By law, all candidate's campaign material must say who has paid for the material.
She said in a statement that not including the disclaimer "is a little bit unfair — I'm following the law and he's not."
Mascaro said it is his mistake and he apologizes for it. "My printer left that information off of my first mailer — it went out to 502 absentee voters." Mascaro said he didn't catch it when he proofread the mailer, and neither did his campaign manager. All further Mascaro mailings will have the disclaimer, Mascaro promised.
