OGDEN — A jury has convicted a 16-year-old gang member who shot and killed a man during a confrontation outside a convenience store.

Diego Mora was found guilty of first-degree felony murder after a two-day trial in 2nd District Court. The boy was 15 when he shot Jesus Aparicio, 22, in the back after an argument. Mora was certified to stand trial as an adult.

The jury deliberated for about two hours before delivering the guilty verdict, court records said.

Mora is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 10. He also is facing a charge for armed robbery, which Weber County prosecutors said they would try at a later date.
