Music Consortium plans an evening of premieres
It will be an evening of premieres when the Contemporary Music Consortium presents its next concert today at 7 p.m. in the First Unitarian Church, 600 S. 1300 East. Suggested donation for the concert is $12 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and students.
Today's program includes the world premiere performances of two of Lisa Ragsdale's works, Sonata for Clarinet and Piano and Duo for Two Flutes.
Four other works will receive their Salt Lake premieres at the concert Lawrence Dillon's "Devotion," Kamran Ince's "Curve" and Meyer Kupferman's "Arcana I" and "Quiet Place." Rounding out the program will be Joan Tower's "Petroushskates" and local composer Marie Barker Nelson Bennett's "In Memoriam."
Performing at the concert will be flutists Laurel Ann Maurer and Nancy Toone; clarinetist Russell Harlow; trumpeter James Caswell; violinists Yuki MacQueen and Jennifer Bogart; violist Leslie Harlow; cellist Stephen Emerson; and pianist Jed Moss.
