Workman explains her side to panel
The panel that will decide whether Workman is charged in the case interviewed the mayor for two hours Monday, asking her how the employees, who worked at the South Valley Boys & Girls Clubs, were hired; their relationship with Workman's daughter, Aisza, who was their supervisor; why they were paid with Health Department funds; and other matters relating to the investigation.
Workman characterized the encounter as straightforward.
Salt Lake County District Attorney David Yocom created the panel of four district attorneys (or their representatives) from neighboring counties in order to remove himself from the decisionmaking aspect of the case, though his investigators have continued to be involved.
Workman and her allies have at times accused Yocom of investigating the case for political gain, which Yocom denies.
