DRAPER — Draper city races were relatively inexpensive seats to fill in this year's municipal elections.

Mayor Darrell Smith, who won his second term in the Nov. 8 election, spent about $7,000 to retain his position. He raised a little over $5,000 for the race, and his final financial filing with the city recorder's office shows that he closed the campaign with nearly $2,000 of debt.

Smith's challenger, Summer Pugh, raised around $2,600 and spent $5,400 to end the election season with a negative balance of around $2,800.

The two new city councilors, Jeff Stenquist and Stephanie Davis, raised and spent roughly $5,000 and $9,000, respectively. Troy Walker, who ran but did not win a seat, raised and spent $9,000. Incumbent councilman LaMont Smith, who did not win his bid for re-election, raised and spent roughly $3,000.
