A lawyer known to fly under the radar and a vigorous investigator were presented with the Utah Attorney General's top awards for the year.

Tim Bodily is said to have kept a low profile while working in the Tax and Revenue Division but stood out in one magnanimous way — deciphering problems that arose within a trust for members of a polygamous community. He was named 2005 Attorney of the Year Friday by the Utah Attorney General.

Property and homes in Hildale and Colorado City were said to be at risk until Bodily asked the courts to intervene.

"We gave Tim what seemed like an impossible task," said Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff. "He resolved some extremely complicated issues and now thousands of people will be able to stay in their homes without the fear of being kicked out."

Bodily said the award was a surprise because tax lawyers do their best not to get noticed.

Also earning accolades from the attorney general was Jessica Eldredge, who was named 2005 Employee of the Year. She was selected for her work in tracking down child predators and building cases for the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

"She's not afraid to kick down doors and arrest the biggest bad guy, especially when a child has been harmed," Shurtleff said.
