Salt Lake County Councilman Jim Bradley announced this week at Monte Vista Elementary School in South Jordan he will seek re-election in November.

Before being elected as a charter member of the council, Bradley was a county commissioner and served as chairman of the commission from 1991-94. He now works alongside Mayor Peter Corroon on economic development to create well-paying jobs in the county.

Over the past six years, Bradley has worked to enhance relationships among the county and cities within its boundaries. He now works with the mayors and council members of Holladay, Cottonwood Heights, Bluffdale and Riverton to create a Unified Police District to increase the efficiency of law enforcement while maintaining cost control.

Bradley worked with Sheriff Aaron Kennard and other council members to find alternatives to incarceration in the county jail for individuals who are not a threat to the community and whose problems are related to substance abuse or mental health.

A Salt Lake County native, he is married to Glenda Solomon Bradley and has four children.
