4-way land exchange announced in Manti
MANTI Manti Mayor Natasha Madsen, members of the Sanpete County Commission and Richard Morley, president of the Central Utah Pioneer Heritage Association, announced Saturday the completion of a four-way land exchange.
The deal will pave the way for a new Sanpete County court facility, expansion of the Sanpete County Fairgrounds, a new Manti City Aquatic Center, and the Pioneer Heritage Museum and Memorial Gardens. Land was exchanged between Sanpete County, the city of Manti, the former Manti Destiny Company and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Manti Destiny Committee was founded in 1981 by Manti resident Jane Braithwaite. Its main goals were to honor the sacrifices and preserve the heritage of the original settlers of Sanpete County.
