Ogden completes probe of mayor, police chief
OGDEN An investigation by the Weber County Attorney's Office looking into a matter involving Ogden Police Chief Jon Greiner and Mayor Matthew Godfrey is expected to be released today.
The probe looked at the actions taken by Greiner and Godfrey and whether a suspended officer was rightfully relieved of duty.
At issue is the case of Ogden police officer Matthew Jones. He was put on leave on the same day his wife was seen driving a moving van displaying signs critical of Godfrey.
The officer's identity was obtained after Greiner asked Godfrey for the license plate number of the van.
Jones has been on paid administrative leave for more than two months.
