New administrator for Springville named
SPRINGVILLE Springville Mayor Gene Mangum announced the appointment of Troy K. Fitzgerald as Springville's new city administrator at Tuesday's City Council meeting.
Fitzgerald, who has been the city's attorney for eight years, will replace Layne Long, who resigned earlier this year. Fitzgerald had been serving in the capacity of interim city administrator after Long's departure.
Fitzgerald moved to Springville from New York in 1993. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry with a minor in Asian studies from BYU, where he also obtained his law degree.
"The entire City Council, along with myself, have a great deal of confidence in Troy," Mangum said in a statement. "His experience and his commitment to Springville C city make him a vital asset to our staff."
Fitzgerald's appointment is effective immediately.
